While the glass undergoes a rapid transformation of heat, air and touch, so does the artist as he controls the amount of heat, air and movement necessary to create the desired form. Time and experience cause wrinkles and the change in the faces of people the same as within material. The essence of the man, who not only visually ages over time, but who also changes his views, feelings and philosophy, emerges in the external image.
The photographer Māris Ločmelis shows the artist Artis Nīmanis as a piece of physical art himself – not only glass, but a model who has transformed through a series of photographs. With a mild dose of humor Ločmelis has created this thematic series of portraits.
